CDR layout
No new models at the moment as
I've been working on my layout covering the CDR from Stranorlar
to Donegal. Here are some screenshots to give you an idea of how
it's going. Still lots to do!

Stranorlar station from the west.

The route up to the summit past Lough Mourne.

Looking south-westwards through the Barnesmore Gap.

A view north-west back through the Gap.

Lough Eske station.

Approaching Donegal station.
In
preparation: San Marino narrow-gauge railway (950mm) which
ran between the tiny independent state and the city of Rimini, Emilia-Romagna
in north-east Italy. This little line was opened in 1932 and destroyed
in 1943 during WWII. A short history in English is available here,
and a longer history in Italian here.
The electrified catenary line was built as a main line railway for
much of its length but in the latter part, when it climbed up to
San Marino itself through several tunnels and severe curves, it
looked more like a tramway. Guided by Italian Trainzer Filippo,
I will be modelling the tramcars and freight vehicles. The distinctive
tunnel which carried the line into its upper terminus is already
being beta-tested and I have also already prepared a small range
of basic 950mm gauge track. We will recommend what catenary to download
from the DLS in due course. I will also be producing 3ft gauge versions
of all the vehicles as they are otherwise too wide. Similarly, changing
the track in the tunnel will onl need a minor edit in the config.
Download
problem: An odd glitch has developed on downloading cdps
from one of the three servers hosting this site. All the space and
bandwidth I use has been kindly donated by generous Trainzers. If
you left-click on some links and get a browser page full of mixed
up code then use the back button to return you to the page listing
the models then right-click on the link and choose
'save link as', then click on save in
the little pop-up as usual.
All
new ING4Trainz models and revised versions are issued under kuid
169585 only.
